Job Responsibilities:
As part of this role, the you would be expected to develop your technical network across trade associations, academics, and regulators to:
Identify opportunities and progress development of industry standards or guidance through trade association collaboration
Advance scientific dialogue through presentations at technical conferences and publications in the peer reviewed literature
Integrate health/environmental data to inform safe operations and use of ExxonMobil products
Improve existing human health and/or ecological risk assessment methodologies
Support technical aspects of health and environmental regulatory submissions
Skills and Qualifications
Understanding of chemical risk assessment principles and approaches
Familiarity with industry chemical safety testing standards (e.g. OECD Test Guidelines) and global chemical regulations
Interest in understanding and ability to assess potential policy implications and integration of science into policy
Ability to grow technical understanding broadly across environmental health and human health science disciplines
Ability to communicate scientific concepts to diverse audiences; demonstrated ability to lead, influence and collaborate with other scientists to produce impactful work products
Strong written and verbal Chinese language skills
Demonstrated project management, time management skills
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
Experience interacting with regulators (e.g. China MEE)
Existing network with local trade associations and regulators
Product stewardship and/or regulatory experience desirable
Preferred advanced degree in a risk assessment related field, e.g. Toxicology, Environmental Toxicology, Ecology, Epidemiology, Exposure Sciences or Industrial Hygiene
